Collection Development and Analysis
After making a visit and analyzing the condition of the space, shelves, and books, I completed an in-depth analysis of the 100s section of Shaker Heights Public Library’s Main Branch. Starting with demographic data for Shaker Heights and usage data graciously provided by Reference, I calculated statistics to make weeding recommendations using Larson’s (2012) MUSTIE criteria. Keeping in mind the budget and patron base, I recommended authors for purchase and other avenues for access.
